Lahore: Punjab Education Foundation has launched the pilot project of
inclusive education to help rehabilitate the children with minor
disabilities through education.
This project is being launched in
collaboration with Special Education Dept. in Lahore, Multan, Vehari,
Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal districts.
For this
purpose, a four-day training of PEF’s master trainers has been completed
in the Directorate of Staff Development (DSD), today. These master
trainers will, then, train the teachers of partners schools attached
with this program so that they could impart best quality education to
their special students.
The certificate giving ceremony was held
at the DSD Auditorium with Secretary, Special Education Ambreen Raza in
the chair. She appreciated the inclusive education project and said that
special students have many intrinsic talents to exhibit. She hoped that
this project will educate and train such students to live as normal
human beings.
MD PEF Ali Jan Khan said that PEF will monthly pay
Rs. 950 for each special student to the schools attached with this
project. PEF will pay Rs.40 thousand to each inclusive school partner
for the provision of necessary facilities for their special students. He
told that 42 new master trainers will be recruited while the Continuous
Professional Development Program is being revamped, adding that the
services of DSD will be benefited upon for capacity building purposes.
Honorarium will be accorded to PEF’s subject specialists while revision
in their salary structure is also approved by the BOD, he added.
Project
Director DSD, Saeed Ramzan also spoke on the occasion and said that
teachers training module on inclusive education has been designed which
will help the teachers to understand latest educational concepts.
Later, provincial Special Education Secretary Ambreen Raza distributed certificates among the participants.
Meanwhile; The
annually held Quality Assurance Test of private schools attached with
the phase 9 of Foundation Assisted School (FAS) program of Punjab
Education Foundation has started, today, in all the 36 districts of the
province. The test will conclude on December 9.
More than one
thousand partner schools are taking partner in this exam. PEF has set up
control room in the head office to monitor the QAT activity.
The purpose of QAT is to examine the educational standards of the schools partners.
